Building a Backyard Deck

The day before yesterday was a big day!! I ordered the lumber....$$$

I also called Mike W., and Dave Schweers to help out  this Saturday.  Joel Jones also called and said he'll come up and give me a hand on Sat.

The lumber is arriving Thurs. p.m. so I had to put in some more foundation posts for the stairs that face south. I did that this morning. Tomorrow, Thursday, I'm picking up Mike @ 11:00 and we're going to hang the ledger board and try and get the posts up. If time and lumber permit, I'm going to try and get him to help me put up the beams for the deck, but they'll probably be a bit too heavy to lift ourselves.

today I also got post to beam hangers, preservative, and bolts/nuts/washersfor the ledger. Kind of pricey though :-(

it started raining this afternoon....lets hope it isn't doing that tomorrow.
