I dug some more holes yesterday...2 more to be exact. The first was a piece of cake....nice soft ground. the 2nd had rocks down to 24"...ugh!

I took some photos this morning.  The boards are covering the holes...don't wan the dogs falling in.

I've got more details on the deck:

    18'x18'

    6x6 posts....8ft apart....total of 6 posts

    built up beams 3-2x12's

    2x10 joists

likely I'm going with a Tropical Hardwood decking....I want strength/longevity and low-maintenance...but not plastic crap such as T-Rex and it's competitors.

not sure if I want the joists 16" on center or 12". I'd like to eventually be able to hold a Hot Tub....but the deck is going to be pretty beefy anyway.

Here's some 3d drawings from the piece of crap Punch Ultimate Deck Software.

    That's all for today folks.....
